The Back-2-School Fair team at Cabot UMC, in partnership with other local churches, serves Lonoke County students in need by providing clothing, school supplies, new shoes, and other goods and services needed to start the school year off on the right foot. The Back-2-School Fair is normally held on the first Saturday in August each year.
Clothing from newborn – 3X, new tennis shoes for K-12 children, or monetary donations are appreciated.
The Cabot UMC Food Pantry is a ministry of love and mercy for our community. It is maintained and operated by church volunteers. Anyone living in the Cabot School District in need of food assistance is invited to come be a recipient of this ministry. The Food Pantry is open on Tuesday mornings from 9:00AM – 12:00PM. It is located within the Family Life Center (the double doors on the left side of the church). The Food Pantry is closed on any Tuesday that falls on a holiday.
To help ensure that as many needs as possible are met, assistance may only be requested once every month. Persons seeking assistance need to bring a photo ID, proof of address (if different from photo ID: utility bill, electric bill, etc.), and a list of all those residing within their household. The Cabot United Methodist Church Food Pantry is funded and stocked by the Arkansas Food Bank, local area grocery stores, multiple food drives within the Cabot community, and with donations from church members
and members of the community.
Donations of dry good, canned food, hygiene products and/or monetary support is aways welcome.
The Cabot Community Christmas Feast is a CUMC mission that began over 10 years ago to provide less fortunate residents of Lonoke County with provisions to prepare Christmas dinner. The Christmas Feast has grown from feeding 20 people the first year to feeding over 1,100 people with the help of over 200 volunteers from CUMC as well as several other church partners this past Christmas!
There are many ways to help prior to the event as well as on Christmas Day. Green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, turkeys, and monetary donations are needed.
A red painted box located at the entrance to CUMC that is self serve 24/7 to meet the food needs of our community. Feel free to put non-perishable items in at your convenience. Leave what you can. Take what you need.
Kairos Inside is a ministry whose mission is to develop a Christian community inside prisons.
The Kairos Inside Ministry brings leaders together, in both male and female institutions, for a 3 ½ day Weekend led by same gender Kairos volunteers.
The Weekend is based on:
• A series of talks
• Discussions
• Chapel meditations
• Creating a Christian community
For many participants, the Kairos Weekend creates the desire to become a Christian, and for others the desire to continue his/her spiritual growth.
